Our Mission
The mission of the UPMC Horizon and Jameson Community Health Foundations is to promote healthy living through programs that provide education and improved access to health care.
Improving Access to Services
At the UPMC Horizon and Jameson Community Health Foundations, we are committed to improving the health and well-being of our community by funding both community programs as well as Foundation-led projects. We provide support to our community partners who share in our mission of promoting health and wellness throughout our region.
Identifying and Addressing Unmet Needs
Our foundations seek to address health-related needs in the community. From providing AEDs (Automated external defibrillators) to police and fire departments to scholarship aid for health care workers seeking to further their education to loaning free medical equipment to people who can't afford it, the foundations are constantly working in our community to provide support where it is needed most.
Promoting Improved Health and Wellness
In 2001, the Horizon Community Health Foundation established an endowed fund to honor the memory of C. Howard Miller, DO, a respected member of the medical community in the UPMC Horizon area. Each year, investment earnings from the fund are used to sponsor a health education event through the Dr. C. Howard Miller Health Education Lecture Series.
