Foundations Raise $15,000 for Jameson School of Nursing Students

Apr 6, 2022

The UPMC Horizon Community Health Foundation and UPMC Jameson Healthcare Foundation are pleased to announce that $15,000 will be contributed to UPMC Jameson School of Nursing students this semester. The funds were raised as part of an internal challenge to the Board of Directors of each Foundation, as well as the Boards of Directors of the UPMC Horizon and Jameson Hospitals.

The funds will be used to provide scholarship awards to students currently enrolled and expecting to graduate at the conclusion of the Spring 2022 semester from the UPMC Jameson School of Nursing in New Castle, Pennsylvania. Recipients will be selected by a scholarship committee from the School of Nursing.

The Director of the Foundations, Adam Nowland, emphasized the importance of scholarship aid as an investment in the future of medical professionals. “I’m very pleased by the enthusiasm that our foundation and hospital boards demonstrated for this scholarship drive. Their gifts represent an investment in students who are entering the health care industry at a very challenging time and shows that our community values the effort these students are putting into their education.”

Donors interested in supporting UPMC Jameson School of Nursing students through a gift for scholarship aid can reach out to the Foundations at horizonfoundation@upmc.edu or jamesonfoundation@upmc.edu.
